Policy
Projet Equateur works with the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MEDD) and the National REDD+ Coordination (CN-REDD) to inform the national REDD+ policy with scientific research and field experience. REDD+ is still an innovative mechanism, much of which is still to be tried and tested, particularly in the context of the DRC. By testing different approaches and methodologies by trial and error, Projet Équateur is looking to produce an operational methodology which includes best practices for training local experts. WHRC is also working with the REDD+ Focal Point for the Équateur province in order to develop a REDD+ investment plan for the province.
Projet Équateur is committed to sharing our research and findings with the DRC government as well as non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working within the country and around the world.
We also occasionally publish policy briefs based on our findings. To view these briefs, please click here.
